On the southeast side of town, on Kensington across from Best Buy, is a wonderful new place for gourmet bread, pastries, and sandwiches. Dolce Vita (the sweet life in Italian) is a much appreciated new offering in Appleton's gastronomic scene. I've tried bread and pastries there, and recently took my son there for lunch where I had the best tuna sandwich ever. It had real tuna steak, perfectly done and seasoned, inside a croissant bun with lettuce, cheese, and red onion. Marvelous. Welcome, Dolce Vita!
