
The embroidered cloth shown in this photo is an example of Hmong "paj ntaub" (pronounced "bahndao") or flowery cloth. The scenes depicted there tell the story of persecution in Laos, due to supporting the US side in secret operations against the Communists during the Vietnam war, followed by the dangerous trek to Thailand and then the US.
