Appleton's Top 60 Employers

Recently I was using the Dunn and Bradstreet Million Dollar Database (actually, it doesn't cost nearly that much) to look up some info for some of our clients at Innovationedge, and thought I'd peek at some results for Appleton as well. For companies with Appleton addresses, here are the top 60 employers from the database. It is not quite up to date, especially after some of the layoffs in the past year as well as other changes, but it does give you a good feel for major companies in Appleton. Not all of the large ones are headquartered here. For example, West Corp. has headquarters in Omaha. The number after each company, of course, is the estimated number of employees in the D&B database.

Comments:
D&B is pretty good, but City of Appleton, 100? No way. Last I heard the City has about 600 (though fewer than it used to). The public library alone has 100 (about 51 FTE).

But an interesting list -- thanks!

FYI Franciscan Care & Rehabilitation Center is now Appelton Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Im looking to move to Appleton. As far as major employers what is out there?

Isn't Neenah Paper a large employer

Neenah Paper has around 1000 employees, I've read, but they are located outside of Appleton so they don't make the list. There are some other very large companies in Neenah like Kimberly-Clark with several thousand employees, many of whom live in Appleton. Remember, this is about companies located in Appleton.

Neenah Paper does have a mill in Appleton. The one with the smoke stack that says Fox River Paper Co on it. It is located in the flats. You can see it to your right on S. Oneida St. just before you get into downtown.

How does Jansport and Pacon make it but not School Specialty.
